PECI over DMI Interface Error

$

Hi All,

Does anybody have any information about this error?

We have 3x Brand new S2600WTTR Intel Servers and all 3 are producing this error every few weeks:

SPS FW Health reports SPS Health event type FW status. PECI over DMI interface error. Recovery via CPU Host reset or platform reset. DMI timeout of PECI request.

This is causing a hard reset on each of the systems.

If anyone has any more info on what would be causing this it would be greatly appreciated

Hello All!

I would like to know if it is possible when using linpack to find the physical address in the memory when an ECC error has occurred? Would I be able to find it by looking through the log files for the board?

My specs:

Windows 2008 R2

S2600CO

If more information is needed I will post more.

Thank you for your time!

s2600cp + chassis fans spinning at 100% constantly

Hi,

I recently purchased an s2600 (s2600cp2j) + p4000 series chassis (p4308xxmhjc). Everything was working correctly until I updated the bios from 1.02.0003 to 2.06.0005. Since then all sysfans (5 of them) are running at 100% rpm all the time.

Here are the steps I've taken to resolve the issue:

1. Reflashed bios, me, bmc and frusdr

2. Rolled back (in recovery mode) bios, me bmc and frusdr to 1.02.0003

3. Pulled cmos battery, cleared bios defaults via jumper

4. Incrementally flashed up to bios 2.05.004

5. Pulled all memory sticks except for 2 pairs for each CPU

6. I've even jumped the chassis intrusion jumper as I see SEL updates for it thinking it's a bad chassis switch

My selviewer is looking clean, I do see a chassis intrusion and chassis intrusion close events very close to each other i.e. same second. I've disconnected the chassis intrusion switch thinking it may be bad but no results. I'm attaching an updated sysinfo with chassis alarm disconnected and the 2nd psu disconnected. Seems to have cleared up the SEL chassis alarms but still the issue persists.

I've also set various bios options for accoustic management again to no effect.

This system before the bios update was working correctly so I'm wondering what's happened here and yes I've been through the troubleshooter page.

I'm attaching a sysinfo file which I think shows it all in case anyone has come across this issue.

The second nochassis file was done after I pulled the chassis intrustion wire and purged SELs.

I'm not really seeing any obvious issues here but welcome any guidance.

Server Board S2600WT2R unable to set clock speed to 2400.

I have an Intel® Server Board S2600WT2R

I have set the Memory Operating Speed in the bios to 2400, but dmidecode reports that "Configured Clock Speed: 2134 MHz".  If I set the clock speed in the bios below 2133, the clock speed changes appropriately.  I have been through the BIOS manual and I believe I've set everything up properly.

I know what my RAM (Kingston KVR24R17D4/16) is not on the Approved Memory List.

Thank you for your time.

s5000xvnsasr bios update

I have s5000xvnsasr with BIOS version S5000.86B.03.00.0059 (release). And want to update it to a stable v.0066. Because a bootable cd rom IDA was hang on the step of flashing BMC or BIOS from .zip-file "XVN_10_13_2006" (for IDA), I tried to flash bmc55.bat from bootable USB drive (S5000PSL_XSL_XVN_RA_DOS_Firmware_Update5). Because this process was not completed, I repeated it with shorting 2-3 pins on J1E3 jumper "BMC Forced Update"... And destroyed BMC firmware: BIOS Error Manager displays error 84F2 "Baseboard Management Controller failed to respond". I think, flashing my BIOS to required version R0064 will resolve problem updating BMC55. And after that I will be able to update the BIOS to a stable v.0066. Am I right or wrong? Please help me to solve the problem.

Memory Bandwidth on HPC system

Hi all,

I am having a problem with the performance of our system (256GB RAM, CPU E5-2680 v3 @ 2.50GHz, Xeon Phi 7200q). When I check the performance with Linpack tool, the result is not stable, sometimes it is dropped.

I debugged the tool and figured out the problem caused by Memory Bandwidth on NUMA model.

Node 19
Numa node01
058516.3886.2
128470717.6

This is the result of one in our compute nodes. The bandwidth (MB/s) of memory on NUMA node 1 is very bad.

Can you give me some cases that you have experienced with this problem? Or, you can give me some recommends about the reasons which can be the cause of this problem.

Thank you!

Hi Guys,

I keep getting notifications daily for the last 3 months about:

Controller ID: 0 PD Predictive Failure:

Port 0 - 3:1:5

I'm not sure what this really means. I'm thinking I may need to replace the hard drive. How do I determine which one it is? Attached is the image of the errors..

Our customer reported they have deployed several R1000 servers for broadcast service, they said the issue was occurred one time on 3 servers, this error was being asserted during 3 months from at that time. Can you please let me know if it's the DDR memory issue or do we need to RMA it? Thanks

C600 RAID 5 with SSD drives cause single drive failure under heavy load

I have a Intel Server P4000CP with C600 RAID controller. I have five SSD drives (Samsung 840 PRO 256 GB), configuration - one system drive and 4 RAID 5 drives. I am running Windows 2012 R2. All drivers and firmware at latest versions.

Problem - when copying lots of data from the RAID drive (backups) I will occasionally (once a week) get a failed status on one of the RAID drives. Using the Intel Rapid Storage tool I can select the "Mark as normal"  property and it will rebuild the drive and put it back to "Normal".  It is always the same physical drive that fails. I have replaced with a new drive. No help.

The system drive works without issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is Xeon Phi 5110P compatible with asus p9d-x C222 chipset and E3 1220l-v3 CPU?

The Asus P9d-X mother board has the function on "Above 4G decoding" option., the chipsets is C222.

And I am going to install an E3 1220L v3 or G3258 on that chip.

Can they work together?

and is there any instruction and details on this kind of set up?

Thanks a lot guys. There is so little data about them.
