s2600gz usb boot impossible to install Windows Server 2012

Hi Everyone,

I have a server with this motherboard installed ( Intel S2600GZ ). I wiped all the informations on the HDD and recreated two fully new RAID10 , 550GB each one.

After creation of the RAIDs, il put my freshly created windows server 2k12 boot usb key in, and boot the server.

I chose this usb key as boot media with F12 Key in the boot screen and install began. After loading RSTE hardware RAID driver, I saw my two RAIDs available but I cannot choose one for installing windows server 2k12.... even in GPT or other kind of partition changed in diskpart. Teh error " WIndows cannot install system on this file system or cannot find a partition to install windows" :-S

Worse, after trying some other tweaks to install 2k12, I decided to check some BIOS option (UEFI blocking or something)  and I have update the BIOS to the lastest version ( SE5C600.86B.02.06.0005 )

Now, however I changed some options in BIOS or default parameters, I can boot on my usb key but I only have after booting black screen with little dot blinking on top of the screen. I cannot boot on windows installation program anymore X_X

Can someone have a miraculous idea to solve my problem ? I make hundred of windows installations each year on multiples plateforms, It's the first time I cant find why I cannot load windows installer

My boot usb key is completely functionnal, It works in others plateforms I tried.

Kind regards and thanks for the help.

Sorry for english mistakes, I'm belgian guy :-)

Running on 1kva ups

Brought System in late 2015. worked nicely for long time error occurred once before but i ignored because later started working normally.

but from few months i was getting error beep 1-5-4-2  once in a couple of weeks, or month . which ruins my work.

What happened was  a glitch on screen appears couple of times and then system turns off in next second.

can't boot (install) from NVMe SSD

Hi,

We have server on MB S2400SC server board with latest BIOS, ME, etc. - S2400SC_EFI_BIOS02060005_ME020107328_BMC0127r9958_FRUSDR113.

Now, we want move from SATA RAID System drive to SSD NVMe drive - Plextor PX-256M8PeY , and install MS Windows Server 2016, but we get a some problems.

As I understood from manuals (and forums), to boot OS from NVMe SSD, MASS Storage option in BIOS should be set to AHCI mode, without RAID support. Ok, BIOS loaded default settings and the Mass Storage option set to AHCI mode, without RAID.

1. when BIOS switched into EFI boot only - EFI Optimized Boot = Enable, in this case, boot from EFI USB flash drive is stopped after several seconds, loading freezes. The same is happened when I boot from MS WDS using UEFI network stack.

2. when BIOS switched into - EFI Optimized Boot = Disable , in this case, we can boot from USB flash drive and produce the first part of the system installation. BUT! to boot from NVMe SSD we MUST to switch into UEFI boot mode only - EFI Optimized Boot = Enable , again. And in this case we have the same problem as in 1 para. I see Windows Boot Manager option in BIOS - Boot Options page , OS start loading, but after several seconds stopped, loading freezes.

Could you help us?

Hello,

Is there any WInPE (10.0.14393) driver for RSTe for the S1200SPL?

Latest RSTe driver 4.3.0.1223 can see RSTe on S1200BTL and S1200V3RPL but not on the S1200SPL.

ESRT2 works fine.

Two graphics cards ASUS HD7970-DC2-3GD5 on a S2600IP

Good morning everyone,
I would like to know if any of you have already installed two graphics cards ASUS HD7970-DC2-3GD5 on a machine
S2600IP with Windows 7.
The two processors have 16Gb of RAM each.
Unfortunately the system starts with one simple NVIDIA FX370 graphics card which makes me turn on a single DVI output.
Should I update my BIOS?

Thanks,

Simone

S3420GPV RAM options (very confused)

I've been looking to build a server and I have an S3420GPV which I want to use, however the RAM requirements are extremely confusing for me. On the technical document, it says no support for x4 or x16 RDIMMS, and no support for Low Voltage DIMMS. It also says that for 16GB RAM you want quad rank 4GB DIMMS but it gives support for 6x4GB Dual Rank DIMMS if you want 24GB RAM (Obviously not possible in the V as it has 2 slots per channel) however that leads me to believe that it should work with 4x 4GB dual rank DIMMS.

This is conflicted when I go to the supported hardware though. Most of the 4GB DIMMS listed there are 2Rx4 DIMMS, and some are even 1.35V (low voltage). So now I have absolutely no idea what to believe.

For example - KVR1333D3D4R9S/4GI

It's in the supported hardware list for my motherboard, however kingston say it uses 512MB blocks. The TPS for the motherboard says it does not support 256/512MB technology.

I know this product's support ended years ago but I'd have thought is someone might be able to explain things, I might find them here. I've even found documentation that states registered memory isn't supported in the V variant but I do not believe this is true.

S2600CW - After System Boot Process "C7"

We have a new server with the S2600CW motherboard.  After the system boot process is complete, there is a "C7" character that remains in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.  This only shows with the on-board VGA connector, as we also have a PCIe video card installed.  Different characters show up in the bottom right-hand corner during POST, but I wouldn't expect to continue to see this after the Intel splash screen (press F2 for settings, F6 for boot menu, etc.)  Is this normal behavior?  BIOS is 01.01.0020.  C7.JPG

Our customer reported they have deployed several R1000 servers for broadcast service, they said the issue was occurred one time on 3 servers, this error was being asserted during 3 months from at that time. Can you please let me know if it's the DDR memory issue or do we need to RMA it? Thanks

How to setup RAID on RMS3VC160 in Server R2224WTTYSR-not seeing drives!

$

We are new to Intel Servers, previously having HP Servers and I am finding the intel server not nearly as intuitive as the HP when it comes to setting up a RAID option.  I have set up our server by plugging in the 14 drives through the 4 cables connected to the RMS3VC160 RAID controller.  The two cables plugged into the embedded SAS and sSAS ports on the motherboard do not go back to any drives.  Those drive bays are empty.  But now my question is how to actually configure the RAID?  Now because i'm not plugged into the embedded ports any longer, I get the message in boot up that say "No Hard Disks found.  Intel (R) Embedded Server RAID 2 can not be configured".  In the BIOS I have changed the setting under Mass Storage Devices from AHIC to RAID but it appears that this change would only apply if I was using the embedded ports?  Any help on how to find a screen where I can set up  my 14 drives to RAID 10 would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

I'm not sure what this really means. I'm thinking I may need to replace the hard drive. How do I determine which one it is? Attached is the image of the errors..

PECI over DMI Interface Error

Hi All,

Does anybody have any information about this error?

We have 3x Brand new S2600WTTR Intel Servers and all 3 are producing this error every few weeks:

SPS FW Health reports SPS Health event type FW status. PECI over DMI interface error. Recovery via CPU Host reset or platform reset. DMI timeout of PECI request.

This is causing a hard reset on each of the systems.

If anyone has any more info on what would be causing this it would be greatly appreciated
